Commentary
-
David Spooner, who was five-years-old at the time, recalls that: "At Honolulu, Pandora and Roy were greeted with leis and later upon docking in Los Angeles there was a large press conference to greet Pandora." Roy Spooner remembers further challenges on board: "Our trip was further complicated by a strike among the ship’s service personnel as we travelled across the Pacific. Arranging meals and sleeping accommodation for three very small children, two adults and a panda on a crowded steamer left us little time to enjoy the Pacific!"
