Title: Spooner Family Archives
Description: Photographs in the collection of David Spooner, son of Roy and Kathleen Spooner, who lived and worked in Chengdu, Sichuan, 1931 to 1945.
Abstract: Roy was a chemistry professor at WCUU who conducted applied research on indigo dying and hide tanning, two of the local industries. Kathleen worked in the library and made a very significant collection of blue and white Sichuanese cross-stitch textiles, which is now at the Museum of Anthropology, UBC.
