Commentary: A photo by Kwong Lam Studio, which was taken at the same time from a different angle, was published in the Hong Kong Daily Press, 1938-05-19. Pandora is seated on a wicker basket eating a sprig of sugar cane, one of the new elements in Pandora's diet introduced by foreigners. Roy Spooner, who had known Pandora in Chengdu, stands behind her touching her back.
