A group of M. m. lasiota, the west Chinese rhesus macaque, found in western Sichuan and northern Yunnan, sitting among a stand of bamboo.

Commentary
-
This subspecies of rhesus macaques has very long fur compared to other rhesus macaques. Floyd Tangier Smith and Daniel S. Dye were among those affiliated with WCUU who trapped monkeys for transport to Western zoos. It is possible these monkeys are ones that Daniel S. Dye had in captivity at WCUU to ship to American zoos.
