Captain of boat 1912. Standing in the middle is the captain of Service’s boat. He holds our captain’s son’s child i.e., the captain’s grandson. To his right stands the little girl we think so much of, the captain on our boat’s daughter. Next to her, the captain is sitting. Standing in front of him is the other grandchild. Next to them, the captain’s wife is standing, but only her arm shows in the picture. On the other side of Sr. Service’s captain is our teacher, and beside him Dr. Service’s teacher. Some men stand in the background. Notice the caps on the teachers which they always wear, the turbans wound around the captain’s head. Notice the baby’s hood with ornaments around the front, and little projections on each side which look like cat’s ears. The little girl has a band around her head. She is a sweet looking little thing and a nice disposition. They tried to get her in the school at Kiating, but her parents would not let her go. She doesn’t know as many characters as we do. Can’t read at all.
