Description
This gives a close view of the lime kiln on the Yangtze River shoreline, depicting a great cascade of lime kiln dust (LKD) flowing from the rocky hillside to the water. A mine shaft can be seen half way down the cascade on the left side of the image.
Commentary
Although there are lime kilns in Sichuan, the appearance of the river and EKS's route suggest a location downstream instead. David Crockett Graham mentions that there is a large lime kiln near Wuchang, which is across the Yangtze from Hankow.
