Fishing Junks on the Lower Yangtze River

Title: Fishing Junks on the Lower Yangtze River
Caption: Fishing Junks of the Yang-Tzu.
Identifier: SEFA_033
Alternative Identifier: Simpson Album p6
Description: Several clusters of junks with the sails raised float on a clear still expanse of water.
Commentary: The setting appears to be on the lower Yangtze near Hankow where the river is very wide and calm. Despite the fact that Alice has this photo sandwiched between pages of Yichang, another photo on the page (SEFA 035) is labelled "Kiukiang," a town east of Hankow/Wuhan.
