Description: US troops inside the Douglas C-54 Skymaster that took them over "The Hump" from Kunming to Calcutta. The plane has a large domed roof and benches along the sides on which the men are seated. Some of them appear to be reading letters.
Commentary: When the war ended, almost all US troops were flown out of China from Kunming to Calcutta, where they waited for a steamer to take them to New York. He didn't know it at the time, but this was the last time Don Willmott was in China until 1978.
