Description
Travel narrative of Edward Beatty's and Gilbert Vinden's trek from Dujiangyan to just beyond Wolongguan, during which they encountered the baby panda, Pandora, for sale in a small mountain village.
Commentary
The locations mentioned in Beatty's narrative align almost perfectly with place names on a map created by YMCA missionary George G. Helde in 1922. This makes it possible to recreate the exact location where Pandora was captured.
