Commentary
-
"We took pictures of Margaret within a day after she was born. After Mother was well enough, we started for Shanghai. Going along the canal towards Hangchow we occasionally saw wild ducks. When Margaret cried, she said a, a, a. The Shaoshing word
for duck is a, so the boatmen said Margaret was calling the wild ducks."
