Description
A large group of workmen carry poles up a wooden plank. Another group secures a large beam in place while building the roof of the hospital. Another roof beam appears to be already in place on the right side of the photo. A Chinese grave is seen on a hill in the far left background. The caption is written on the front along with the number 3.
Commentary
Gordon Jones had a degree in engineering from the University of Toronto. Accordingly, the Canadian Methodist Mission assigned him to building hospitals and schools in four different stations between 1910-1913, when he was reassigned to The Canadian Business Agency in Chongqing.
