Description
-
Probably taken from a boat as Graham was passing by on his way from Yibin to Leshan, the photo depicts a cliff on the shoreline that features vertical stripes. The photo is in black and white, but Graham describes these stripes as "multi-colored." Two people on the shoreline provide a perspective of how massive this rock face is.

Commentary
-
From Graham's autobiography: "One of the sights on the way to Kiating is
what is called the 'ribbon counter.' There is a sandstone cliff about two hundred feet high. The rain water running over the sides of the rock has painted it in various colors, making it not unlike a great ribbon counter."
