Description
-
Robert McAmmond (left) with an unnamed Taoist priest and Mrs. Clauda McAmmond pose before a bamboo wicker lattice that frames the porch of a brick building. The priest wears a Ming dynasty inspired scholars gown with extra long sleeves, a cap, and bare feet. The McAmmonds' dress suggests a date in the late 1930s. However, the couple left China for good in 1935.
