Description
-
A street vendor's portable "restaurant" consists of two units - one with a large wok over a conical stove; the other a table over what is probably some kind of heating unit with hot food for sale. The latter has an umbrella over it. The vendor serves a large woman with bound feet.

Commentary
-
Fellow missionary Robert McAmmond sent Robert Ewan photographs to garner support for the West China mission after he had returned to North America in 1912. These two units would be carried on either end of a carrying pole, possible the one that can be seen between them.
