Commentary
"In 1916, Estabrook, [Kyle Simpson] married Alice a Missionary teacher under the Woman's' Board of the same Canadian Mission. She first had teaching experience in the Chengtu High School for Girls. Four Missions united to form a Normal school to train High School girls to teach in their grade schools. Kyle Simpson and Alice
Estabrook were married in the British Consulate in Chengtu; the capital city of Szechwan. The British Consul was present and signed their marriage certificate. The ceremony was performed by an ordained minister, Reverend Charles Carscallen, a native of Dresden, Ontario." (Evans 1975)
