Title
Language Teacher Aboard a Houseboat, 1910
Caption
This personage in the very certain pose of having his picture taken is our Chinese teacher on the houseboat. He was sent down from Chengtu to Ichang to meet our party. See the pill-box cap. It was of black satin with a button of red silk cord on top. We seven beginners started with him. He was not the Chinese scholar my Chengtu teacher was.
