Description
-
Three men are seen carrying a bridal chair with the bride hidden inside. The chair is adorned with silk panels and other indiscernible decorations. The hills surrounding Renshou can be seen in the background.
-
Commentary
-
In traditional Chinese weddings, the bride is carried from her birth home to that of the groom's family, where the couple will reside. Since the marriages were arranged by the families, the bride and groom may never have met before the ceremony.
