There is a sailboat parked on the shore in front of what appears to be a camp of pup tents, perhaps for the workers, but possibly for the US Army, since they were present in the region at that time.

abstract: This image belongs to a series of images that Don Willmott took while he was teaching English at the Ming Hsien School, which had moved to northwest of Chengdu during WWII. He used 6 of these images in a slide lecture that he presented at a variety of venues in the 2000s.
