Water wheels turned by the force of water which is deflected against the back by a low dam. Bamboo cups alternate with bamboo paddles which keep the wheel turning. The water is poured out into the trough at the top and flows out in a bamboo pipe. The water is raised about 25 feet by this wheel. Wheel just outside Junghsien city wall. Alice
