Description
-
View of the newly built Canadian Methodist Mission (CMM) in Chengdu before or shortly after its completion in January of 1913. It is included in the story of the evacuation because at the start of the conflict, the British consul in Chengdu ordered all missionaries to move to this hospital. 225 English-speaking missionaries resided in the unfinished building from Sept. 2nd to Nov. 17th when they were allowed to return to their own homes.
