- Section of narrow gauge tracks of the Chuan-Han Railway (川汉铁路) at Yichang, showing lack of reinforcement to the banks. Some grave mounds can be seen on the bank above the tracks at upper right. See all items with this value
- Commentary
- This short section of the railway was completed in 1911 and abandoned due to bankruptcy soon after. The engineering was faulty and parts of the embankments swept away during a rain storm. It's not clear whether the railroad was still in operation when E. Kyle Simpson passed through Yichang in February of 1913. See all items with this value
