From Yichang to Chongqing, the party "traveled in four boats. In the first were five members of the Women's Missionary Society: Misses Brimstin, Virgo, (Dr.) Austin, Armstrong and Ellwood. In the second were the Misses Kerr and White, Rev. A. P. and Mrs. Quirbach and Margaret and myself. In number three were Rev. R. B. and Mrs. McAmmond, while the Rountree Bros. occupied the fourth."
